Paragon are working with a world class hedge fund to hire a Senior Database Platform Engineer for a key role within their Database Engineering team. This position is focused on building and operating a modern database platform centred around automation, infrastructure as code, and declarative database management. The successful candidate will help drive the adoption of schema-as-code principles across SQL Server and Snowflake environments, ensuring deployments are version-controlled, auditable, and repeatable.

Key requirements:

  • Strong SQL Server experience, including performance tuning, indexing, Always On Availability Groups, replication, and security
  • Hands-on Snowflake experience, including data modelling, RBAC, Snowpipe, and cost optimisation
  • Proven experience with Terraform
  • Strong understanding of declarative, state-based database deployments using tools such as Flyway, Liquibase, or Atlas
  • Experience integrating database changes into CI/CD and GitOps workflows
  • Python and/or PowerShell skills for automation

The role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale platform engineering initiatives, including automated provisioning, self-service capabilities, observability tooling, and migration of legacy database workloads onto a modern engineering platform.
