CARE ASSISTANT / CARE SUPPORT COMPANIONS - LOCATION: SOUTHAMPTON - INSPIRE NEURO FACILITY
Salary: £14.32 per hour
Hours: Up to 21 hours per week | Primarily afternoons, with occasional evenings
Harland Care Services Ltd is seeking compassionate, reliable, trustworthy and engaging Care Assistants/Care Support Companions to support a friendly 52-year-old gentleman living with a C3/C4 spinal cord injury. Our client currently lives at a rehabilitation facility in Southampton and is eager to continue enjoying the activities and interests that bring him joy and companionship. This role is less about personal care and more about enabling him to maintain his wellbeing, access the community, and live life to the fullest.
About the Role
You will accompany and support our client on outings and activities, helping him access the community and pursue his passions.
- Trips to the cinema
- Visits to local pubs and cafés
- Assisting with eating and drinking
- Swimming sessions
- Theatre shows and live performances
- Concerts and events
- Exploring the New Forest, beaches, and local beauty spots
- Community walks while supporting him as he uses his powered wheelchair
- Assistance with domestic admin tasks eg correspondence
- The client owns a Fiat Doblo vehicle with manual gearbox, so a confident driver willing to drive his vehicle is essential and would significantly enhance his quality of life.
