Senior Control System Engineer in Portsmouth

Lead Automation Engineer | Lead Control System Engineer | Senior Controls Engineer | Senior Automation Engineer | Installation & Commissioning | PLC | SCADA | HMI | £55,000 – £75,000 | 2 days a week in the office

I am currently working with a leading engineering and maintenance provider, supporting customers across the nuclear, oil & gas, renewables and many more industries. With a global workforce focused on enhancing efficiency and implementing critical technology into these sites.

My client is growing rapidly in the automation space and looking for an experienced Systems Engineer at either Senior or Lead level, with strong controls knowledge and experience across both SCADA PLC systems. The focus of this role is to help the team across a number of projects, an interest in Project management or some background in this skills is beneficial for the Lead position.

Essential Experience

• A minimum 5 years’ experience with integrated control systems
• Strong knowledge of automation systems testing specifications, documentation within in a regulated industry environment.
• Extensive hands on experience of PLC\’s and SCADA systems with Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, AVEVA, Zenon or Ignition
• A good knowledge of Control panels with electrical installation and Instrumentation solutions.

Nice to have

• Industrial Protocol Knowledge (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus etc)
• IOT and Edge Computing (NodeRed, MQTT etc)
• IT/OT Convergence
• Network design and configuration
• Cyber Security
