We are entering an exciting period of strategic growth, driven by a proposed merger with Settle and the planned acquisition of 3,500 homes from L&Q. These initiatives will enable us to deliver more affordable homes, improve services for residents, and invest in local communities.
We are financially robust with a strong emphasis on delivery of safe and high-quality housing in the Southeast of England. The Strategy and Policy team is part of a wider directorate of 40+ people and plays a central role in guiding our corporate direction. Our business is committed to innovation, collaboration and excellence in every endeavour. Supporting the Assistant Director of Strategy & Policy, your remit will include:
- Horizon policy scanning and policy research
- Lead on the reporting on progress against Paradigm\’s current corporate plan ensuring monitoring and performance tracking
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives that align with our organisational goals
- Conduct in-depth policy analysis and provide actionable recommendations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of strategies
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented policies and strategies
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging issues to inform decision-making
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Educated to graduate level, ideally with a degree in a relevant field such as Public Policy
- Proven experience in strategy development and policy analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and able to present to diverse audiences
- Understanding of current issues within the social housing sector and broader policy landscape
- Ability to interpret data and MI to support recommendations.
This role may be well suited to someone with experience in in policy, strategy or research – whether gained within or outside of the housing sector. Direct experience in social housing is not essential, however a genuine passion for the making a positive difference in this field is fundamental. We welcome interest from those currently working in these areas, as well as individuals returning from a career break, provided you bring the right mindset, transferable skills and a strong commitment to driving meaningful change.
Part time option: This post is advertised on the basis of 37 hours p/w: 9-5.30 Mon-Thurs and 5pm finish on Friday OR 30 hours over 4 or 5 days. Please state your preference at application stage. Salary and benefits pro-rata for part time hours.
Where could this role take you? Whilst this role is fixed term for 12 months, in a business our size; circa 630 employees and turnover £150m+ (which is growing) and with the transformation we are going through, there is a possibility that this could either be extended, made permanent or other suitable opportunities may arise. Many of our talented colleagues started at Paradigm as temporary/interim and have gone on to forge successful careers with us. However, if something longer term doesn\’t materialise, you will still gain valuable experience which will add to your employability in this and similar fields
