Together, we’re building a better future.
As we continue to grow, we’re strengthening our Fire Safety team to help us keep residents safe and supported.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Fire Safety Coordinator to join our Fire Safety Works team. This is a role for someone who’s organised, calm and good at keeping things moving. You’ll help make sure fire safety checks, servicing and remedial work happen on time, and that residents, contractors and colleagues all have the information they need. You’ll be the person who keeps the admin side running smoothly, booking appointments, raising jobs, updating systems, uploading certificates and keeping track of what’s been done and what still needs attention. You’ll also be a friendly point of contact for residents and contractors, helping to make sure communication is clear and expectations are managed.
If you like a role where you’re at the centre of things, enjoy problem-solving and want to play a part in keeping people safe in their homes, this could be a great fit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating fire safety work, booking appointments, raising jobs and keeping track of progress
- Supporting fire safety servicing and repairs to make sure work is completed on time
- Managing the Fire Safety inbox and helping residents, contractors and colleagues with queries
- Uploading certificates and documents and keeping records accurate
- Allocating work to our Direct Labour team and external contractors
- Reviewing paperwork and challenging anything that doesn’t look right
- Supporting compliance by making sure testing and maintenance follow the right standards
- Helping close down completed jobs so our systems stay up to date
- Calling residents to confirm appointments and explain what’s happening
- Taking minutes in team meetings when needed
- Raising purchase orders for repairs and maintenance
- Supporting the Fire Safety Works Manager with project tasks and day-to-day admin
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need to be a fire safety expert. We can teach you that. What matters most is that you’re organised, good with people and comfortable juggling different tasks.
You’ll do well in this role if you:
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, colleagues and contractors
- Stay calm when things get busy and can work through tasks in a steady, methodical way
- Enjoy keeping systems tidy and accurate
- Are confident using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint
- Like being part of a team and supporting others
- Can spot when something doesn’t look right and aren’t afraid to question it
- Care about doing things properly and keeping people safe
Must haves:
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional approach
- Good IT skills, especially Excel, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint
- A methodical way of working and good problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well with others and support the wider team
Nice to haves:
- Understanding of fire safety basics (fire doors, fire stopping, equipment)
- Experience scheduling or coordinating work
- Experience producing simple reports or checking data
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage competing tasks
- A customer-focused approach
