We’re looking for two residents to join our Resident Experience Committee – a paid role where your experiences, views and ideas really matter. The Committee plays an important part in supporting the SettleParadigm Board, with a specific focus on resident experience. It helps look at how services are working, what residents are telling us, and what needs to change so services keep improving.
The Committee meetings will be held remotely online. We’re looking for two residents to join our Resident Experience Committee – a chance to share your views, learn how decisions are made, and help make things better for everyone who lives in our homes.
What does the Committee do?
- They meet five times a year to look at how resident services are performing
- Review Tenant Satisfaction Measures and other performance measures
- Check that learning from complaints leads to real improvements
- Review resident-facing policies and communications
- Make sure resident experience meets regulatory standards
As a Committee member, you’ll help make sure residents stay at the heart of decision-making. Your lived experience – where and how you live, what works well and what doesn’t – will help shape how services are delivered and improved.
We’re Looking For People Who:
- Care about improving services for residents
- Feel comfortable sharing their views and asking questions
- Are happy to listen to different perspectives
- Can think about the needs of lots of different residents
- Are willing to prepare for meetings and take part
- Relevant experience from paid or volunteer roles, or community-based activities would be welcome although is not essential
You don’t need previous committee experience – just an interest in getting involved and helping make things better for everyone.
Why are we recruiting now?
Our current Committee was formed after Settle and Paradigm merged in October 2025. We want to strengthen resident voice and make sure the Committee reflects our diverse resident population. We’d especially welcome applications from residents living in blocks of flats and Shared Owners, but all eligible residents are encouraged to apply.
What’s in it for you?
- £5,000 per year for your time and contribution
- Training, support and a full induction
- The chance to build skills, gain confidence and meet new people
- A real opportunity to influence decisions and improve services
To be a committee member, you need to be eligible. You should be a SettleParadigm resident (tenant, leaseholder or shared owner) and over 18 years of age. You should not be in breach of your tenancy or lease (including rent arrears) or subject to a possession order or anti-social behaviour order or injunction; or have a conflict of interest from being closely associated with SettleParadigm or working for any company or organisation that also works with, or for SettleParadigm.
Time Commitment:
- Commit to attend five meetings of the Committee per year. This includes dedicating the time to read the papers circulated and prepare for the meeting in advance
- Commit to attending the resident-led Resident Experience Panel at least twice per year
- Attend occasional online training to support you in your role
Term of Appointment:
The appointment will usually be for three years with annual appraisals with the Chair of the Committee. There is a maximum length of the overall term of six years.
How To Apply:
No CV needed. We’ll ask you a few simple questions so you can tell us about yourself in your own words. We’ll also check you’re able to commit to the time involved. We’re committed to making this role accessible and will provide adjustments, equipment or support wherever needed.
Our Commitment:
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment, by reflecting and representing the diversity of the communities we serve. We would like to encourage applications from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds; people who identify as disabled, neurodivergent, members of the LGBTQ+ community and people from underrepresented groups.
Accessibility and Adjustments:
We are committed to providing reasonable adjustments throughout our recruitment process and in the running of the Committee, and we’ll always endeavour to be as accommodating as possible. Please let us know in advance of any suitable arrangements required.
Please ensure you fully answer the questions on the application form.
