Overview
Painter & Decorator Support Technician (Damp & Mould) role at Paradigm Housing Group. This is a practical, hands-on position focused on removal and cleaning of damp and mould, followed by painting and decorating works to restore properties to a high standard. You will work with surveyors, supervisors, and other trades to ensure hazards are resolved before finishing work.
Responsibilities
- Respond to reports of damp and mould, completing emergency works within 24 hours and non-emergency works within 7 days
- Clean and treat affected areas using safe, effective methods
- Collaborate with surveyors and other trades to address root causes
- Carry out internal and external painting and decorating once hazard removal is complete
- Prepare surfaces, including plastering, rendering, and making good
- Undertake minor maintenance tasks, including basic carpentry and plumbing
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
- A recognised qualification (NVQ/BTEC) or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in painting/decorating
- Solid understanding of damp, mould, and the requirements of Awaab’s Law
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Physical fitness and confidence working at height
- A full, valid UK driving licence
- Experience in other trades, health and safety training, and basic IT skills would be advantageous

Location & Contract
Location: Mobile role with travel across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire and surrounding areas. Head Office: High Wycombe; Stores Room: Chesham. Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time (42.5 hours per week, 08:00 – 17:30 Mon – Fri).
