Every time a home becomes empty, our Voids Team steps in to make sure it’s safe, compliant and ready for its next resident. As an Electrical Technician specialising in EICRs and remedial works, you’ll play a key part in that journey, carrying out essential electrical testing, repairs and upgrades that help us minimise void rent loss and get homes back into use quickly and safely.
About The Role
You’ll carry out day‑to‑day electrical maintenance across our void properties, including EICRs, rewires, repairs, installations and emergency lighting testing. Working unsupervised, you’ll deliver high‑quality work in line with regulations, safety standards and our void lettable standard, ensuring every home is safe, secure and free from hazards. You’ll work closely with our Voids Manager, Senior Technicians, Voids Officers and wider Property Services teams, as well as contractors, suppliers and utility companies.
Your work will directly support our ability to turn around homes quickly, safely and to a standard we’re proud of.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical works independently and to a high standard, aiming for a first‑time fix wherever possible
- Complete EICRs, servicing, repairs, rewires and emergency lighting testing in void and communal areas
- Produce accurate certificates and documentation in line with procedures and timescales
- Work professionally and courteously with customers and colleagues, representing SettleParadigm positively
- Follow all health & safety requirements, including risk assessments and method statements
- Report unsafe working methods, installations or equipment immediately
- Use materials and equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining van stock levels
- Support apprentices or developing colleagues when required
- Comply with all procedures relating to vehicles, PPE, ID, telecoms and equipment
What We’re Looking For
Must haves
- Extensive experience across domestic electrical work: installations, EICRs, fault finding, repairs and rewires
- Logical, methodical approach to diagnosing and solving problems
- City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 & 3 (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, building regulations and health & safety
- Good literacy and numeracy
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Ability to make sound decisions using your own initiative
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Commitment to excellent customer service
- Strong time‑management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing)
Nice to haves
- Experience with domestic smoke alarm systems and communal emergency lighting maintenance
- Experience of working in void properties.

Working Hours & Additional Pay
Hours and working pattern: 42.5 hours per week Monday - Friday. Potential to participate in out‑of‑hours rota, with potential to boost base salary.
