About The Role
As Finance Business Partner, you will act as the primary financial advisor to senior leaders across Asset Management and Compliance. You will provide clear insight, challenge and strategic guidance across long‑term investment planning, statutory compliance and stock sustainability. You will lead forecasting, financial modelling and scenario planning, ensuring leaders have a clear understanding of cost pressures, risks, affordability and value for money. You will also develop reporting frameworks that give visibility of performance, cost drivers and emerging risks.
This is a highly collaborative role where you will work closely with Property Services, Development, Finance and senior stakeholders to support decision making at Executive and Board level.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic asset and compliance insight
- Lead financial appraisal of asset investment and compliance programmes
- Provide visibility of cost per unit and highlight trade‑offs between investment, compliance and affordability
- Support scenario planning where pressures exceed budget
- Financial planning and forecasting
- Lead forecasting across asset and compliance programmes
- Identify emerging risks and affordability gaps
- Define triggers for reforecasting and escalation
- Support leaders in understanding programme phasing and delivery risks
- Performance, value for money and reporting
- Develop reporting frameworks that show performance, cost drivers and risks
- Provide insight for Board reporting on compliance, investment and affordability
- Governance, controls and assurance
- Maintain strong financial governance over compliance spend and asset accounting
- Ensure alignment with fixed asset register and regulatory expectations
- Support audit processes with clear evidence and documentation
- Integration, systems and continuous improvement
- Support system harmonisation across legacy organisations
- Improve data consistency and transparency
- Drive improvements in reporting and financial processes
- Business partnering and stakeholder insight
- Act as the primary finance partner to Asset and Compliance leadership
- Translate complex data into clear insight
- Support decision making by explaining financial trade‑offs
- Provide constructive challenge to drive value for money

What We’re Looking For
- Experience preparing and interpreting management accounts
- Experience working with complex budgets and forecasts
- Experience improving accuracy, reporting or financial controls
- Essential knowledge and skills
- Strong Excel capability including advanced lookups, pivots and modelling
- Strong understanding of management accounting principles
- Ability to analyse financial and non‑financial data and identify trends
- Part qualified or finalist CCAB accountant
- Ability to present insight clearly to non‑finance stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Highly organised and proactive with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong communication and relationship building skills

- Experience using Sun Accounts or modern ERP systems
