Paradigm Employment Services are delighted to be working in partnership with an established engineering business to recruit a Technical Engineer for their South Wales operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background who enjoys combining technical design, problem solving and customer support. Working as part of a specialist technical team, you'll provide engineering solutions for a wide range of customer projects, producing technical drawings, supporting operational teams and ensuring projects are delivered safely and efficiently. The role is predominantly office based in Wales Head Office, although occasional visits to customer sites may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce technical drawings and layouts using AutoCAD / CAD software
- Design engineering solutions to meet customer and project requirements
- Review technical specifications, drawings and customer enquiries
- Provide technical support to commercial and operational teams
- Liaise with customers regarding technical requirements and proposed solutions
- Carry out engineering calculations and ensure compliance with relevant standards
- Assist with project planning and technical documentation
- Support continuous improvement of engineering processes and designs
- Attend customer sites when required to gather information or provide technical support
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a Technical Engineer, Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or similar engineering role
- Strong CAD / AutoCAD experience
- Engineering background within sectors such as:
- Heavy Plant
- Lifting Equipment
- Construction Plant
- Mechanical Engineering
- Temporary Works
- Materials Handling
- Industrial Equipment
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
- Experience producing engineering calculations
- Understanding of structural or mechanical design principles
- Knowledge of lifting, load handling or heavy equipment (advantageous but not essential)
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical, Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
