Quality Auditor

We have exciting opportunity for a Quality assurance/ auditor to join a leading global producer within the FMCG sector.

Main responsibilities for the Quality Auditor

As a Quality Auditor, you will be responsible for ensuring product safety, legality and quality across the Newmarket factory.

You will work closely with the production teams to support high-class, efficient and flexible manufacturing performance in line with business objectives and strategic plans.

  • To regularly audit all QC documentation as directed and identify non-conformances against the agreed standards, specifications and/or procedures.
  • Ensure all site-specific Quality, Housekeeping and Hygiene standards are achieved or exceeded.
  • Ensure daily quality inspections and audits are carried out, and raise any non-conformances against the agreed standards, specification and/or procedures with the relevant managers, and ensure appropriate action is identified, actions carried out and documented as required.
  • Accurately complete all required quality control documentation for compliance against BRC, Customer and site-specific quality standards.
  • Control and monitor the issuing of knives, scissors and metal detector sticks to the relevant Team Leader.
  • Carry out Taste panels as per the Technical schedule.
  • Carry out internal audits.
  • To carry out trace exercise for out of specification micro results.
  • To arrange for reference swabs/samples to be sent to the lab and logged for out of specification results.
  • Ensure compliance to QMS systems at all times.
  • Carry out tasks within your capability and deemed necessary by the QA Manager/Technical Manager.
  • Contribute with the planning, organisation, operation and installation of all new processes and equipment within the factory.
  • To know all QMS, HACCP & GMP procedures and standards and ensure they are complied with.
  • To provide subject matter expertise in x-ray and metal detection, in order to support the operations team in ensuring compliance with critical control point (CCP) monitoring.

Main Requirements for the Quality Auditor

  • Good solid experience in a production leadership capacity within an FMCG environment.
  • IT literate to an intermediate level.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
  • An energetic self-starter who is results-oriented, tenacious and deadline-driven.
  • A high degree of self-belief and a strong desire to progress.
  • Able to provide clear direction to teams and motivated to consistently drive safety, quality, production targets and efficiencies to a high standard.
  • Promotes team autonomy, has a flexible approach and encourages an ethos of managing upwards.
  • An effective communicator, able to engage confidently at all levels, with the ability to motivate, persuade, question and challenge.
  • NVQ Level 2 Food Manufacturing, NVQ Level 2 Team Leading, or Level 2 Food Safety Manufacturing qualification.
