We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Machine minder or operator to join a leading global producer within the FMCG sector. Main Responsibilities:- Ensure all production processes are carried out in accordance with the company's quality standards.
- Ensure all products are manufactured in compliance with food safety legislation, customer requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping to meet company and customer expectations.
- Work safely and remain fully compliant with all training, procedures, and health & safety requirements.
- Ensure full product traceability is maintained and accurately documented throughout the production process.
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot automated case packing robots to maximise production efficiency and minimise downtime.
- Carry out light engineering duties, including basic mechanical adjustments, routine maintenance, and component replacement where required.
- Perform first-line fault finding on automated equipment and escalate more complex issues to the Engineering team when necessary.
- Record machine downtime, faults, and corrective actions using the company's production reporting system (e.g. Redzone) to support continuous improvement.
- Support preventative maintenance activities and assist engineers during planned maintenance and equipment changeovers.
- Replenish consumables and packaging materials to ensure continuous production with minimal interruptions.
- Carry out machine start-up, product changeovers, and line set-up in accordance with production schedules.
- Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Complete all required quality, safety, and production checks accurately and on time.
- Operate and maintain case end labelling equipment, including machine set-up, label verification, and label reel changes.
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Mechanical or engineering knowledge, with experience of carrying out first-line maintenance and fault finding on production machinery.
- Experience operating automated production equipment or case packing robots is desirable.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance and the ability to identify and escalate mechanical issues appropriately.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with good troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- HACCP and Allergen awareness.
- Well organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight production deadlines.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on reducing downtime and improving machine performance.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Basic salary £35,000+ overtime Monday to Friday- 14:00pm-10:00pm.
