We have an exceptional opportunity for a Buyer to join one of the UKs leading ingredients specialists, based in the Lincolnshire area. Our client has a truly global presence, working in partnership with trusted growers and producers worldwide to deliver reliable supply solutions and innovative product development to food manufacturers across the UK, Europe, and international markets. With an established international footprint spanning dedicated teams in the UK and Asia, alongside exclusive supply partnerships across the globe, the company is recognised for delivering turnkey ingredient solutions and providing class-leading service to both customers and suppliers.

Main responsibilities for the successful Buyer:

  • Support the sourcing and purchasing of food ingredients and snack products from global suppliers, ensuring continuity of supply, competitive pricing, product quality and supplier performance.
  • Work closely with suppliers, logistics partners and internal stakeholders to manage purchasing activities across categories including dried fruits, nuts, seeds, frozen products.
  • Source and procure food ingredients and products in line with business requirements and customer demand.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with global growers, producers and suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts and supply agreements to achieve best value and service levels.
  • Monitor market trends, crop conditions and commodity movements to support purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure continuity of supply while managing cost, quality and lead times.
  • Work closely with technical, quality and supply chain teams to ensure products meet food safety and customer standards.
  • Manage supplier performance through regular reviews and KPI monitoring.
  • Support new product development and sourcing initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, forecasts and inventory data.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through proactive planning and supplier diversification.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures, sustainability objectives and ethical sourcing standards.

Main requirement for the successful Buyer:

  • Previous experience in a Buyer, Procurement or Purchasing role within food manufacturing, ingredients or FMCG.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Understanding of global food supply chains and commodity markets.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple product categories in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of food safety, traceability and quality standards is advantageous.
  • CIPS qualification or working towards qualification would be beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings, site visits, trade shows, and industry events as when required.

  • Monday to Friday (on site based)
  • Salary Β£40,000 per annum
