Main Responsibilities for the successful Construction Manager:
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering construction projects within the housing sector, including managing budgets, timelines, and teams, as well as ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day running of the project, with the support of an assistant manager, where appropriate.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks and devise contingency plans where appropriate.
  • Manage a direct team consisting of an assistant manager, forklift operator, and labourer on a daily basis, establishing and communicating the methods of work to be employed in carrying out the construction operations, assisting with resources requirements and movements of operatives on the project, to deliver the safe, smooth and efficient running of the Contract.
  • Liaise, book and manage all subcontract trades and check quality of workmanship and delivery against the pre-determined programme.
  • Snag and carry out handover inspections of properties prior to handing to the customers in accordance with our customer care procedures.
  • Assist in the implementation of processes for the continuous improvement of the organisation.
  • Review method statements and risk assessments that are specific to construction activities and assist in compiling the Work packs ensuring they contain all relevant information.
  • Ensure all site personnel have the correct authorisations to operate plant or receive permits and have the correct PPE and welfare facilities on site.
  • Maintain a great relationship with clients and subcontractors.
Main requirements for the successful Construction Manager:
  • Ideally a site manager with a minimum of 5 years experience working within the residential / Social Housing sector.
  • Demonstrate excellent drive, determination, and ambition to succeed.
  • Pro-active approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow procedures and work to tight deadlines.
  • Have a can-do attitude and work well under pressure.
  • Clean UK License.
