About the Opportunity

Paradigm Employment Services are working on behalf of a well-established and growing engineering and vehicle services business in the Cardiff area. Due to continued demand, they are looking to appoint an experienced LCV Mechanic / Vehicle Technician to join their team. This is a hands-on role working across a mixed fleet of light commercial vehicles (LCVs), vans, and cars, offering variety and long-term stability within a supportive workshop environment.

The Role

You'll be responsible for carrying out a wide range of mechanical duties, ensuring vehicles are maintained to high safety and performance standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Servicing and routine maintenance of LCVs, vans, and cars
  • Diagnostics and fault finding
  • Mechanical repairs (engine, brakes, suspension, etc.)
  • Vehicle inspections and health checks
  • Preparing vehicles for MOT testing
  • Supporting MOT testing (if qualified)
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with safety and compliance standards
  • Maintaining accurate service and repair records

The Candidate

We're looking for someone who is reliable, hands-on, and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship. Ideal experience includes:

  • Proven experience as an LCV Mechanic / Vehicle Technician
  • Experience working on vans and light commercial fleets
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • MOT testing licence (advantageous, not essential)
  • Relevant qualifications (NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence
