About the Opportunity
Paradigm Employment Services are working on behalf of a well-established and growing engineering and vehicle services business in the Cardiff area. Due to continued demand, they are looking to appoint an experienced LCV Mechanic / Vehicle Technician to join their team. This is a hands-on role working across a mixed fleet of light commercial vehicles (LCVs), vans, and cars, offering variety and long-term stability within a supportive workshop environment.
The Role
- You'll be responsible for carrying out a wide range of mechanical duties, ensuring vehicles are maintained to high safety and performance standards.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Servicing and routine maintenance of LCVs, vans, and cars
- Diagnostics and fault finding
- Mechanical repairs (engine, brakes, suspension, etc.)
- Vehicle inspections and health checks
- Preparing vehicles for MOT testing
- Supporting MOT testing (if qualified)
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with safety and compliance standards
- Maintaining accurate service and repair records
The Candidate
We're looking for someone who is reliable, hands-on, and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship. Ideal experience includes:
- Proven experience as an LCV Mechanic / Vehicle Technician
- Experience working on vans and light commercial fleets
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- MOT testing licence (advantageous, not essential)
- Relevant qualifications (NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent preferred)
- Full UK driving licence
