The Parade Park Hotel Bath is seeking an experienced, passionate, and dynamic Bar Manager to lead our bar operation and deliver exceptional guest experiences. As Bar Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the hotel bar, ensuring outstanding service, operational excellence, and strong commercial performance. The Opportunity

As Bar Manager, you will play a key role in the success of our Food & Beverage operation. You will oversee every aspect of the bar, from service delivery and stock management to team development and financial performance. Working closely with the wider hotel management team, you will ensure the bar operates efficiently while maintaining exceptional quality, profitability, and guest satisfaction. You will also have the opportunity to introduce new ideas, seasonal promotions, and innovative beverage offerings that enhance the hotel's reputation and guest experience.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the hotel bar, ensuring smooth, efficient, and professional service.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and create memorable guest experiences.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop the bar team, fostering a positive and high-performing culture.
  • Lead by example during service, providing hands-on support and maintaining high operational standards.
  • Develop staff rotas that balance excellent guest service with labour cost efficiency.
  • Manage stock ordering, stock rotation, inventory, cellar management, and supplier relationships.
  • Monitor beverage margins, stock variances, wastage, and departmental budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing legislation, food safety regulations, health & safety standards, and company policies.
  • Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally, ensuring prompt resolution and service recovery.
  • Work closely with the kitchen and wider hotel departments to deliver seamless service.
  • Support the planning and delivery of hotel events, private functions, and seasonal promotions.
  • Drive beverage sales through upselling, promotions, and product knowledge.
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and organisation throughout the bar.

You'll Ideally Have

  • Previous experience as a Bar Manager, Assistant Bar Manager, or in a senior Food & Beverage leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of wines, beers, spirits, cocktails, and premium beverage service.
  • Proven experience managing stock, budgets, labour costs, and profitability.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills.
  • A hands-on management style with a passion for coaching and motivating others.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • A good understanding of licensing legislation, food safety, allergen management, and health & safety requirements.
  • Experience using EPOS systems and stock management software is desirable.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
