Working closely with the Reception Manager and Front of House team, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a warm welcome and ensuring every stay begins and ends with exceptional service. This is a varied, hands-on role combining reception duties, concierge services, and luggage assistance, requiring a proactive and guest-focused approach.
You will play an important role in shaping each guest's experience by delivering personalised service, providing local knowledge, and assisting with luggage movement and guest requests throughout their stay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests with a professional, friendly, and engaging manner, ensuring a seamless arrival and departure experience.
- Manage check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and guest enquiries efficiently and accurately.
- Provide concierge services, including local recommendations, directions, transportation arrangements, and assistance with bookings and reservations.
- Assist guests with luggage movement, storage, and delivery to and from guest rooms as required.
- Anticipate guest needs and resolve enquiries or concerns promptly, professionally, and with attention to detail.
- Maintain high standards of presentation within the reception and lobby areas.
- Support the Reception Manager in ensuring front office procedures and service standards are consistently delivered.
- Handle guest communications in person, by telephone, and via email in a professional and timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with housekeeping, maintenance, food and beverage, and other hotel departments to ensure a smooth guest experience.
- Assist with administrative tasks, cash handling, payment processing, and reporting as required.
- Support the wider hotel operation with flexibility and a hands-on attitude during busy periods and special events.
- Uphold the hotel's standards of professionalism, appearance, and customer care at all times.

Requirements
- A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Previous experience in a receptionist, concierge, guest services, or front-of-house role within hospitality is preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of the local area, including attractions, restaurants, and visitor experiences.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to assist guests and colleagues wherever needed.
- Ability to safely handle and move guest luggage and remain active throughout the shift.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a warm, approachable manner.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high service standards.
- Experience using hotel reservation or property management systems is advantageous (Mews preferred).
- Confidence handling guest enquiries, payments, and administrative duties accurately.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
