Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum

Hours: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours/week) - 32 hours supernumerary, 8 hours on shift

Shift Pattern: Mon - Fri with the occasional weekend oversight

Exciting new opportunity. We are recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager, who has knowledge in a residential children's LD/EBD home based in Whalley Range, Manchester. We are looking to hire a deputy manager, who has experience working within a residential children's setting with Deputy Manager experience. You MUST have QCF LEVEL 3/4 diploma in Children and Young People. We provide services to children and young people between the ages of 8 and 17 years. The successful deputy manager will support children and young people for as long as required. It is paramount to the success of the organisation and the homes which we operate ensuring that they are operating at the highest standards possible whilst also working closely alongside the Registered Manager of the home.

Deputy Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager
  • Assist the Registered Manager in maintaining standards
  • Perform supervision for staff
  • Ability to lead from the front
  • Proven understanding of Ofsted Requirements
  • Excellent Organizational Skills
  • Ensure high standards of care are always met
  • Thorough understanding of Regulations and Legislations that impact upon a Children Residential Care Setting
  • Support the staff team, and to have a hands-on approach to the daily running of the home
  • To be able to think on their feet and outside the box when challenges arise
  • To bring positive energy to the home and staff team while maintaining authority in your role as deputy manager

Special Conditions:

  • The post is subject to a six-month probationary period
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Shift pattern of Mon-Fri with the occasional weekend oversight
