HOPELINE247 Advisors

We are seeking HOPELINE247 Advisors to provide tailored suicide prevention advice and guidance to young people and concerned individuals via our national multi-channel helpline, HOPELINE247. The role also involves delivering online and community-based suicide prevention training across the UK.

What you will do:

  1. Work as part of a team supporting clients through multiple communication channels.
  2. Operate on a 7-day shift system, including night shifts.
  3. Use professional judgment to assess the needs of service users at risk and manage safeguarding issues.
  4. Maintain accurate records and monitor data within our database system.
  5. Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice.
  6. Provide training, mentoring, and coaching to new recruits.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree or professional qualification in Health or Social Care, Community Work, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in suicide prevention or mental health advisory roles.
  • Proven experience working directly with vulnerable young people.
  • Experience in providing advice and guidance via multiple communication channels.
  • Ability to empathize, support, and build rapport with individuals at risk, maintaining a non-judgmental approach and adhering to service guidelines.

Additional Information:

PAPYRUS is committed to equal opportunity employment and safeguarding all vulnerable groups. We offer a salary of Β£31,454 per annum (Scale point 24), progressing to Β£34,776 (Scale point 28), with additional night shift allowances. This is a permanent, part-time role (33 hours/week) based in Edgbaston, Birmingham, working night shifts from 10:25 pm to 7:40 am on a rota basis.
