Papworth Trust is seeking an Engagement Lead / Engagement and Communications Lead, this is a newly created role supporting the WorkWell programme on a full-time, fixed-term basis until 31 March 2027, with the potential for extension.

As an Engagement Lead / Engagement and Communications Lead, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering a comprehensive engagement and communications approach for the WorkWell programme across the Central East region. Interviews will be held from 1st May 2026.

About the role: As the Engagement Lead/ Engagement and Communications Lead you will collaborate with other WorkWell Hub Leaders while reporting directly to Papworth Trust. Primarily developing, coordinating, and delivering a comprehensive engagement and communications approach for the WorkWell programme across the Central East region. Ensuring stakeholders are kept informed, engaged, and aligned with programme objectives. The role requires flexibility to travel across East Anglia, support events, and deliver presentations. This role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hybrid working with a minimum of one day per week in our Peterborough office and the rest of the week split approx. two days at WorkWell Hubs, and two days home working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and delivery of the WorkWell communications and engagement strategy, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with programme objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with GP practices, primary care teams, local authorities, community services, and voluntary sector organisations, acting as a key point of contact.
  • Plan and deliver engagement activities, events, workshops, webinars, and presentations, ensuring they are promoted, attended, and evaluated.
  • Create and manage high-quality content across briefings, newsletters, presentations, FAQs, digital platforms, and social media.
  • Gather, analyse, and report on stakeholder feedback to continuously improve communications and engagement.
  • Ensure all communications and activities comply with safeguarding, data protection, health and safety, and organisational policies.

About you:

As an Engagement Lead / Engagement and Communications Lead, you will be values driven with a strong affinity for Papworth Trust's mission and a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential to able you to adapt messaging for different audiences, manage multiple priorities, and coordinate projects and engagement activities. You will have proven experience in communications or stakeholder engagement, within voluntary sector, public sector or multi-stakeholder environments. Possess skills in developing strategies, organising events, and using feedback and data to improve outcomes. Proficient in digital tools, platforms, and analytics, and familiar with governance, data protection, and information sharing requirements. You must be willing to travel across East Anglia and have your own transport.
