The Role
At Papier, our Senior Stationery Designer creates trend-setting, design-led stationery products that bring our creative vision to life across both our D2C and wholesale collections. While the role is primarily focused on stationery, there will also be opportunities to contribute across adjacent lifestyle product categories as our ranges continue to evolve. You’ll be responsible for researching, conceptualizing and delivering beautifully crafted products, combining exceptional typography, illustration and graphic design skills with a strong understanding of product development and print production. We're looking for someone with exceptional creative judgement, a genuine curiosity for design and culture, and a passion for spotting emerging trends across stationery and the wider lifestyle landscape. You’ll be proactive, full of ideas and excited to help shape the future of our product ranges. As a senior member of the team, you’ll inspire those around you through creative leadership, coaching and consistently high-quality design. Working closely with the Stationery Design Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping Papier's seasonal creative direction and continuing to establish the brand as a global leader in premium stationery.
About You
- Proven experience creating design-led stationery, packaging or lifestyle products, supported by a strong portfolio demonstrating strong typography, graphic design and illustration skills.
- Excellent proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong product development experience, with a good understanding of print production, paper stocks, materials and manufacturing processes, and experience taking products from concept through to production.
- A passion for creating beautifully crafted physical products, with exceptional attention to detail and a refined eye for typography, colour, composition and finish.
- A keen awareness of trends across stationery, fashion, interiors and the wider lifestyle landscape, with the ability to translate inspiration into original, commercially successful products.
- Experience collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams to develop innovative products, materials and finishes that balance creativity, quality and commercial viability.
- Confident presenting creative work and design thinking to senior stakeholders.
- Experience supporting, mentoring or developing designers is highly desirable, with the ability to share knowledge, provide constructive feedback and positively influence the wider team.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, collaborative and proactive, with the confidence to contribute ideas, challenge thinking and help elevate the creative standard of the team.

What You’ll Do
- Lead the creation of trend-setting, aspirational designs through the excellent execution of multiple simultaneous design projects.
- Present design ideas and outcomes cross-functionally with confidence and clarity, conveying complex design thinking in a way that leads to increased engagement and generates excitement.
- Drive the process of creativity and proactively make time for inspiration, experimentation and growth through the sharing of creative opportunities, new trends and techniques.
- Understand and interpret the seasonal Design Strategy, generating ideas for new products, formats and lead thoughtful research and concept development that results in original, forward-thinking products.
- Inspire the team to push beyond obvious references and create work that feels distinctive, relevant and unmistakably Papier.
- Demonstrate exceptional typography, graphic design, translating these into beautifully crafted products with strong commercial appeal.
- Actively manage your own schedule consisting of multiple simultaneous projects to ensure that all key deadlines are met.
- Proactively plan and prepare for a project's next steps.
- Keep all stakeholders informed about a project’s progress, preparing any necessary design information to be shared with them at key stages and escalating any issues to Design Ops that may affect delivery.
- Work collaboratively with sourcing and suppliers to balance creative ambition with commercial objectives, delivering products that are original, commercially successful and feasible to manufacture.
- Model excellent standards of quality and housekeeping through a thorough understanding of our products and artwork systems.
- Support the team in maintaining best practice across artwork, file management and technical execution.
- Have a great understanding of the printing industry and processes, utilizing this knowledge to encourage team awareness of paper possibilities and restrictions, and work with printers and colleagues where necessary to expand knowledge of new technology and techniques.
- Provide constructive feedback and design guidance to any direct reports (midweight or junior designers).
- Actively seek and respond to feedback regarding own design work, identify own areas for development and investing time into creative and professional growth.
