Join to apply for the People Executive role at Papier. Founded in May 2015, Papier is a London based start‑up, which has raised £60m+ million since launch. Papier’s collection of stationery products, from notebooks & diaries to notecards and wedding invitations, is designed to feed curiosity and contemplation, to invite people to uncover the possibility of a blank page. The business is growing and internationalising rapidly, particularly experiencing growth in the US across both D2C and wholesale channels.

At Papier, we believe that great teams are built by great people – and we’re looking for a vibrant, organised, and thoughtful People Executive to help us nurture ours. You’ll be joining a small but mighty People team that champions our culture, supports our growth, and makes Papier a place where everyone can do their best work. Whether it’s onboarding new starters, keeping our people processes running smoothly, or lending a listening ear, you’ll be at the heart of the employee experience.

We’re after someone who loves bringing order to a fast‑paced and agile work environment, thrives on variety, and has a naturally positive outlook. You’ll be the friendly first point of contact for all things people – from answering HR queries to supporting team initiatives, and you’ll play a key role in helping us continually improve how we work and care for our team.

About You

  • You’ll thrive in this role if you’re someone who loves people, organisation, and getting things just right.
  • You’ll bring energy, care, and curiosity to every task – whether it’s helping a teammate with a quick question or improving our people processes behind the scenes.
  • You’re organised and detail-obsessed, with a love of clear systems and tidy spreadsheets.
  • You’re warm and approachable, the kind of person others naturally turn to for help.
  • You’re adaptable, staying calm and upbeat working in an agile environment.
  • You’re a great communicator, both in writing and in person.
  • You’re proactive, take ownership, and enjoy making things better.
  • You’re collaborative & love working as part of a team.
  • You’re tech-savvy and comfortable learning new systems (experience with HR tools like HiBob or UK Payroll / Pento is a plus!)

What you’ll do

  • You’ll be a key part of our People team, the friendly face helping to make sure everything runs beautifully behind the scenes.
  • Your day-to-day will be full of variety, from supporting new joiners to keeping our systems shipshape.
  • Be there for our people: You’ll be the first point of contact for employee queries, making sure everyone feels supported and heard.
  • Welcome new starters: From verifying right-to-work checks to preparing contracts and onboarding packs, you’ll help every new joiner feel right at home from day one.
  • Keep our records spotless: You’ll look after the details, from contracts and leavers to changes and probation, ensuring our HR admin is always up to date.
  • Support payroll: You’ll help ensure our monthly payroll runs smoothly, accurately, and on time.
  • Champion data accuracy: You’ll keep our HR system, HiBob, clean, up to date, and ready to report on everything from holidays to headcount.
  • Stay compliant: You’ll make sure we’re ticking every box when it comes to GDPR, auditing, and best practice.
  • Help us grow inclusively: You’ll support and build on our DEI efforts, helping us create a workplace where everyone feels welcome, valued, and able to thrive.
  • Support talent and hiring: You’ll coordinate recruitment processes, from posting job ads to scheduling interviews, keeping candidates engaged, and ensuring a smooth experience for everyone joining our team.
  • Keep our space happy and humming: You’ll take care of light office management – managing supplies, keeping the kitchen stocked, helping with ad hoc team needs, and making sure the office feels warm, welcoming, and well looked after.
  • Bring people together: You’ll help coordinate team lunches, celebrations, and little moments that make the workday feel special.
  • Learn and grow: You’ll have the chance to get involved in people projects, from learning and development to system updates and parental leave processes.
