Paperplanes is hiring a Campaign Operations Manager to own campaign build, segmentation, QA, and rollout across client and internal marketing activity. The role sits between lifecycle and email marketing, creative production, and light CRM and data work, making it best suited to an operator who enjoys turning strategy and briefs into accurate, effective campaigns. This is not a pure brand marketing role and not a pure analyst role. It is a hands-on execution role for someone who can manage campaign delivery end to end, work comfortably inside email and CRM platforms, collaborate with creative and commercial stakeholders, and use data to improve targeting and performance.

About Paperplanes

Paperplanes is a direct mail SaaS platform working with ecommerce brands, particularly in the Shopify ecosystem. The business sits at the intersection of campaign execution, production, audience targeting, and measurable performance, so this role is designed for someone who is comfortable operating across both digital and print-adjacent workflows.

The Campaign Operations Manager will be responsible for taking campaign briefs and turning them into well-executed customer communications and operationally sound rollouts. This includes building campaigns in the relevant platforms, creating and refining audience segments, supporting asset production, running QA checks, coordinating timelines, and reporting on campaign outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Own campaign setup and delivery from brief through to launch, including timelines, setup, QA, and deployment.
  • Build and manage email, CRM, and lifecycle campaigns across tools such as Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or similar platforms.
  • Create, refine, and maintain audience segmentation for targeted campaigns and automated journeys.
  • Support campaign asset production, adapting briefs into on-brand creative in tools such as Canva or Adobe Photoshop.
  • Coordinate campaign inputs across internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are accurate.
  • Perform pre-send and pre-launch QA checks across content, links, audience logic, personalisation, tracking, and operational setup.
  • Monitor campaign performance and interpret results including response rates, engagement, audience performance, and broader campaign outcomes.
  • Work with CRM and database information to support campaign selection, reporting, and ongoing optimisation.
  • Help improve operational processes, templates, workflows, and campaign documentation over time.
  • Support digital campaigns alongside print-led or direct-mail-adjacent campaign execution where relevant.

Ideal candidate profile

The ideal candidate is a mid-level marketer with strong campaign operations or lifecycle execution experience, typically with around 3 to 6 years in a relevant hands-on role. They should be comfortable owning execution independently, confident working in email and CRM platforms, and able to balance detail, pace, and stakeholder management.

The strongest candidates will have:

  • Hands-on experience launching campaigns in Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or similar email and lifecycle platforms.
  • Strong understanding of customer segmentation, list management, and audience selection.
  • Experience building and QA'ing campaign journeys, automations, and one-off sends.
  • Confidence working with campaign data, CRM exports, dashboards, or SQL-based teams to support targeting and reporting.
  • Good visual judgement and the ability to turn briefs into workable campaign assets using Canva, Photoshop, or similar tools.
  • Strong project management habits, attention to detail, and clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving SaaS, martech, ecommerce, or database-led marketing environment.

Required experience

  • 3 to 5 years of experience for a strong manager-level individual contributor.
  • Experience in SaaS, martech, direct mail, ecommerce, or campaign operations environments would be especially relevant.

Bonus experience

  • Exposure to print, direct mail, or campaign production workflows.
  • Experience in a client-facing environment.
  • Familiarity with Shopify or ecommerce marketing ecosystems.
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server or similar data environments.

Success in the role

A strong hire in this role will quickly improve campaign reliability, speed, and targeting quality. They will reduce execution errors, help briefs move into live campaigns faster, and create a more consistent operational standard across campaign setup, segmentation, and reporting.

Salary guidance

  • £40,000 to £48,000.
  • Opportunity for Bonus and Options.
