Interim Finance Specialist - IFRS 16 / Statement of Accounts
A Unitary Authority
6-month contract | Primarily remote | Market day rate
Panoramic Associates is working with a unitary authority seeking an experienced interim finance professional to provide technical accounting expertise, particularly on IFRS 16 lease accounting.
The Role
This is a hands-on, technical interim role. The successful candidate will support either (or both):
- Option 1 - IFRS 16 / Lease Accounting (preferred):
- Review and interpret lease agreements in line with IFRS 16
- Assess and model leases, ensuring correct accounting treatment
- Review and validate the lease register
- Resolve technical issues relating to lease accounting
- Option 2 - Statement of Accounts Production:
- Support the production of the Statement of Accounts
- Work alongside an existing team that will close the accounts, but requires additional resources to produce them
- Assist with technical accounting queries raised during the audit
Essential Experience
- Proven experience working in a large local authority
- Strong technical accounting background
- Experience with Statement of Accounts and/or IFRS 16
- Ability to work independently and deliver to tight deadlines
Desirable / Transferable Experience
- NHS finance experience will be acceptable (particularly where lease interpretation is involved)
- Experience working with estates or asset systems
- Familiarity with P2Net (desirable, not essential)
Location & Working Pattern
Role is primarily remote. Occasional on-site attendance may be required, though systems (including P2Net) can largely be accessed remotely.
Contract Details
6-month contract. Day rate: Market rate (subject to approval).
