Together a Hertfordshire based local authority & Panoramic are seeking an experienced Interim Estates Manager to lead its estates team and help shape the future of its property portfolio.
This is a varied opportunity combining team leadership with hands-on delivery across strategic estate management, commercial landlord and tenant matters, covenant releases, valuations, development opportunities and disposals.
The assignment
- Set priorities and manage workloads across the estates team.
- Provide strategic advice on the council's property portfolio.
- Identify and progress development and disposal opportunities.
- Resolve complex landlord and tenant matters, including rent reviews.
- Handle covenant releases, deed variations, consents and historic restrictions.
- Oversee valuations relating to lease extensions and freehold reversions.
- Maintain strong relationships with residents, businesses and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure property activity meets legislative and council requirements.
Your experience
- A strong background in commercial estates and asset management.
- Previous experience leading an estates team or property service.
- Detailed knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation.
- Confidence handling complex valuations, covenants and property negotiations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Local authority experience would be particularly beneficial.
- A relevant property or surveying qualification.
- MRICS or FRICS status is preferred.
