Panoramic Associates are supporting a large public sector organisation looking for an experienced contractor to lead a fast-paced strategic review of its corporate systems estate. This is a high-visibility assignment sponsored at senior level, focused on quickly establishing clarity on what is working, what is not, and what a credible remediation strategy should be across a complex, interconnected set of internal systems (including HR and Finance applications and integrations).

This role suits someone who can operate as a hybrid of technical product strategy and architecture-level thinking: able to understand business process and operating needs, but also comfortable assessing application landscapes, integration patterns and technology choices at a practical level.

Key deliverables:

  • Rapidly assess a multi-system corporate applications landscape (HR, Finance and connected systems).
  • Review existing strategies / papers / delivery plans and diagnose why previous approaches have not landed.
  • Facilitate stakeholder sessions across technology and the business to clarify pain points, constraints and priorities.
  • Produce an initial "first few weeks" high-level assessment and recommended direction that senior leaders can act on.
  • Develop pragmatic options and a sequenced roadmap (fix vs improve vs replace, integration approach, priorities).
  • Remain accountable for the recommendations and support the next phase of delivery (not a one-off audit only).

Experience that would suit:

  • Demonstrable experience completing corporate systems / application landscape reviews and turning findings into actionable strategy and roadmaps.
  • Strong background across HR and/or Finance systems (ERP-style environments a strong advantage, whether single-suite or best-of-breed components).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical and operational issues clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working at pace, with urgency and senior visibility.
  • Experience shaping vendor/product direction, integration strategy and operating models for corporate functions.

To apply, please send an up-to-date CV highlighting relevant corporate systems strategy work (HR/Finance/ERP), application landscape assessments, and examples of recommendations you have taken through into delivery.
