The Role
- Taking lead financial responsibility for a high-pressure Adult Social Care portfolio, you will move budget monitoring to a monthly cycle and drive financial accountability across the directorate.
- Financial Modelling: Lead complex demand and cost modelling to project future pressures.
- Business Partnering: Challenge and influence Service Managers and Commissioning leads on mitigation plans and unachieved savings.
- Strategic Oversight: Manage the Better Care Fund (pooled budgets) and present alternative cost-saving plans at DMT level.
- Leadership: Line manage two Finance Analysts.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Fully CCAB Qualified
- Experience: Mandatory Local Government background. Adult Social Care experience is preferred, though Children's Services experience is transferable.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel/data modelling and a deep understanding of the linkages between Commissioning, Brokerage, and Social Care Payments.
- Soft Skills: You must be an assertive, confident communicator capable of challenging non-finance service leads.
