We are seeking an experienced Interim Senior System Accountant to join a finance team in North West London. This role will be starting immediately, for a 3 month contract paid on a daily rate. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional with education experience to provide hands-on support during a busy period of audit, budgeting and financial planning.
About the role:
- Working closely with the Interim CFO, Finance Manager and System Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the central finance function and ensuring financial processes remain accurate and well managed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and responding to audit queries
- Supporting budget preparation and re-forecasting
- Assisting with IRIS postings and month-end processes
- Reviewing month-end activity and financial information
- Providing clear financial commentary, including write-downs
- Supporting analysis and reporting using Excel
- Working collaboratively with the wider finance team
- Providing practical, hands-on finance support across the organisation
About you:
- Experienced within an education finance environment
- Confident managing audit requirements and supporting budgeting processes
- Strong in Excel, with good analytical and reporting skills
- Experienced with IRIS and ideally IMP Planner
- Practical, proactive and able to take a can-do approach
- Comfortable operating at a Senior level
- Able to work effectively as part of a close-knit, collaborative finance team
- Experience with PS Financials or another comparable budgeting system will also be considered, provided you can quickly learn and work with IRIS and IMP Planner.
