Panoramic Associates is currently working with a secondary school in West Yorkshire to appoint an experienced and resilient Interim Headteacher. This role is to provide strong leadership during a critical period of improvement, with a clear focus on rapidly improving behaviour, attendance, and overall school performance. The school is currently judged Inadequate by Ofsted and requires a proven leader with a successful track record of school turnaround.
The successful candidate will be a highly experienced Headteacher who can quickly establish high expectations, rebuild culture, and implement robust systems to drive sustainable improvement.
Responsibilities
- Provide decisive and visible leadership to stabilise and improve the school.
- Lead the school through a rapid improvement journey from an Inadequate Ofsted rating.
- Drive significant improvements in student behaviour, attitudes to learning, and attendance.
- Implement and embed effective behaviour management systems and attendance strategies.
- Raise expectations for staff and students, establishing a strong and positive school culture.
- Ensure safeguarding, compliance, and statutory responsibilities are fully met.
- Work closely with governors, trust representatives, and external partners to deliver improvement priorities.
- Lead on quality of teaching, learning, and assessment to improve outcomes for pupils.
- Provide strong performance management, support, and accountability for senior leaders and staff.
- Prepare the school for future inspections and long-term sustainability.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working as a Headteacher within a secondary school setting.
- A proven track record of successfully turning around schools from an Inadequate Ofsted rating.
- Demonstrable impact on improving behaviour and attendance in challenging school environments.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to command respect and inspire confidence.
- Extensive experience of school improvement planning and rapid impact delivery.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including working with governors, trusts, and local authorities.
- The ability to operate effectively in an interim capacity and make an immediate difference.
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted frameworks, safeguarding, and educational compliance.
