Panoramic Associates is exclusively partnering with an established special school in Cambridgeshire, supporting children and young people aged 5-19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and associated complex needs, with their search for an experienced Interim Deputy Headteacher to join from September 2026.

The Role

This is a key interim appointment, providing operational leadership across the school and supporting the Headteacher and wider leadership team. You will be a visible, trusted senior leader who can hit the ground running, helping to maintain a calm, consistent and positive culture for pupils and staff.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing day-to-day operational leadership and capacity across the school
  • Maintaining a visible leadership presence, championing the school's ethos and standards
  • Supporting and, where required, overseeing safeguarding matters, including more complex cases
  • Leading and supporting staff, including line management responsibilities
  • Supporting the wider team with ad hoc teaching and occasional operational duties as needed

The initial contract is expected to run until Easter 2027.
