About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Family Support Team Manager to lead and manage a team of Family Support Workers in delivering high-quality social care services to children, young people, and families.
The successful candidate will provide operational leadership, ensure effective case management, and support the team in delivering early intervention and preventative services that safeguard and promote the welfare of children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Family Support Workers to deliver responsive, high-quality family support services.
- Oversee complex casework, ensuring compliance with safeguarding protocols and statutory responsibilities.
- Conduct regular supervision, performance monitoring, and professional development of staff.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners, including education, health, and voluntary sectors.
- Monitor and report on service performance and outcomes, using data to drive improvements.
- Manage team resources effectively, ensuring value for money and adherence to budget constraints.
- Contribute to strategic planning and service development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, guidance, and policies.
Key
- Proven experience managing family support, early help, or social care teams within a local authority or similar setting.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and frameworks (e.g., Children Act 1989 & 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children).
- Experience with complex case management and early intervention approaches.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a high-demand environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and multi-agency working skills.
- Relevant qualification in social work, youth work, or a related field is desirable.
- Enhanced DBS clearance required.
