The role is highly autonomous, with complete freedom to manoeuvre the energy and sustainability agenda to different angles and create a pathway for the future of the company's sustainability agenda.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct feasibility studies, calculating potential savings (kWh, COâ‚‚, cost) and payback periods, and present clear business cases for energy and carbon reduction projects.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to reduce energy usage and carbon emissions across a variety of building types.
- Provide comprehensive monitoring, reporting, and analysis of energy and carbon data to identify opportunities for continual improvement.
- Validate utility bills and ensure accurate energy cost reporting.
- Design and implement BMS/control strategies to optimise energy performance.
- Promote energy awareness across all levels of the organisation through training and engagement initiatives.
- Maintain a strong understanding of corporate energy policies, legislation, and technical standards affecting client properties.
- Stay up to date with energy market trends and regulatory developments to ensure full compliance with energy-related legislation.
Qualifications:
- Additional low carbon or energy efficiency qualifications (e.g., ESOS Lead Assessor, LCC) highly desirable.
- Membership of relevant professional bodies such as CIBSE or the Energy Institute is preferred.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven project management skills with the ability to coordinate complex multi-site energy projects.
- Demonstrable experience in energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and sustainable energy technologies.
- Strong background in energy procurement and regulatory compliance (e.g., ESOS, SECR).
- In-depth knowledge of energy-saving technologies and best practices across commercial buildings.
- Skilled in interpreting energy consumption data and formulating actionable reduction strategies.
- Familiarity with low and zero carbon technologies, including HVAC, lighting, and refrigeration systems.
- Expertise in building management systems (BMS) and control strategies.
- Proficient in statistical analysis and benchmarking techniques.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information clearly.
- Able to produce detailed, costed energy efficiency proposals and conduct full-scale site surveys and technology feasibility studies.
