Interim Disposals Surveyor - Property & Assets Southeast of England
Panoramic Associates is currently working with a forward-thinking Local Authority in the Southeast of England to support the appointment of an experienced Disposals Surveyor to lead a commercially significant land and property disposal programme. This is a high-profile interim role within the Council's Corporate Property team, playing a key part in delivering the authority's asset management strategy, capital receipts targets, and wider financial objectives. You will take ownership of complex disposals, providing confident commercial advice within a governance-led local authority environment.
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Manage the full disposal lifecycle from initial appraisal and valuation through to negotiation and legal completion.
- Undertake site inspections, market research and valuations, recommending the most appropriate disposal route (private treaty, auction or alternative strategies).
- Lead negotiations with developers, purchasers and internal stakeholders to achieve best consideration.
- Prepare clear, commercially robust reports and recommendations for senior officers and members.
- Support the development of acquisition, disposal and investment strategies aligned to corporate priorities.
- Oversee external agents, consultants and solicitors to ensure quality, value for money and timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate asset data and management information across property systems.
- Support capital and revenue budgeting linked to the Disposals and Acquisitions Programme.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Proven experience working within a Local Authority or public sector setting (essential).
- MRICS qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Strong background in land and property disposals within a regulated, governance-driven environment.
- Sound knowledge of valuation principles, market analysis and public sector compliance requirements.
- Confidence managing multiple transactions at pace and advising senior stakeholders.
This is an initial 6-month contract with strong potential for extension, offering Β£400-Β£450 per day Inside IR35.
