Interim Fire Safety Lead Initial 3–6-month contract Southeast of England Inside IR35 Hyrid working Panoramic Associates is currently working with a Local Authority client to facilitate the appointment of an experienced Interim Fire Safety Lead to take ownership of fire safety compliance across the council's residential and commercial assets.
Responsibilities of the
Role: Act as the Council's Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Fire Safety, providing clear technical guidance to internal teams, contractors and stakeholders.
Lead the delivery of the Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) programme, ensuring assessments are completed to the required standard, kept up to date, and that remedial actions are prioritised, tracked and closed out within agreed timeframes.
Provide operational oversight of day-to-day fire safety compliance activity across the portfolio, ensuring a consistent, auditable approach to risk management and assurance.
Take ownership of contract management for external Fire Risk Assessors and specialist fire safety contractors, including performance management, quality checking, reporting and ensuring value for money.
Manage and support a robust end-to-end complaints process from both a client (Council) and customer (resident/service user) perspective, ensuring concerns are investigated appropriately, responses are timely and compliant, and learning outcomes are captured and embedded to improve service delivery.
To be successful in the role you will have: Experience working within a Local Authority setting Strong experience leading fire safety compliance.
Proven contract management experience overseeing external FRAs and specialist fire safety contractors.
The ability to translate technical/statutory requirements to non-technical stakeholders (tenants, councillors, housing officers).
NEBOSH National Diploma in Fire Safety or Level 5/6 Diploma in Fire Safety / Fire Risk Management (essential) Next Steps This is a contract opportunity inside IR35 with interviews expected to take place shortly.
