Building Surveyor - Surveyor Up to Associate in Bristol

Associate Building Surveyor Location: Bristol Hybrid Panoramic Associates is partnering with a well-established South West-based property consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor at Associate level. This is a role for someone who is comfortable taking responsibility for their own projects, dealing directly with clients and providing advice that goes beyond simply identifying a problem. The consultancy works across a varied portfolio, so you'll have the opportunity to get involved in everything from condition and pre-acquisition surveys through to complex defects, refurbishment, dilapidations and major maintenance projects You'll manage a varied portfolio of building surveying instructions, taking projects from the initial assessment through to completion. Your work will include condition and pre-acquisition surveys, technical due diligence, planned maintenance, defect diagnosis, dilapidations and reinstatement cost assessments. You'll also prepare reports, specifications, schedules of work and contract documentation for refurbishment, repair and improvement projects. You'll take responsibility for project delivery, including budgets, procurement, contract administration, contractor management and, where required, acting as Employer's Agent. Clients will look to you for practical advice on building defects, maintenance strategies, refurbishment, acquisitions, lease obligations and neighbourly matters. You'll also have the opportunity to undertake Party Wall work and act as a CDM Principal Designer or Advisor, ensuring projects meet the relevant health and safety, Building Regulations and professional standards. You'll work directly with clients, consultants, contractors, local authorities and statutory bodies, building relationships and making sure projects are delivered professionally and commercially. You'll also have responsibility for supporting the development of more junior members of the team, providing technical guidance and sharing your experience with graduate and assistant surveyors. Alongside project delivery, you'll contribute to the wider growth of the consultancy through client relationships, fee proposals, tender submissions and identifying opportunities for repeat and additional work. Rather than being restricted to one type of survey or project, you'll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of building consultancy instructions while developing your client relationships and taking greater ownership of the service. About You You'll be a Chartered Building Surveyor with a broad technical background and the confidence to take ownership of projects and client relationships.
