Your opportunity: As Consultant in Public Health – leading in Sexual Health and Public Health Strategy, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering Kent's public health priorities. Your portfolio will include leadership for sexual health and public health strategy, ensuring that everyone in Kent, regardless of age or background, can access excellent sexual health services. You will provide strategic public health leadership across a complex system, working closely with colleagues within Kent County Council, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care System, NHS partners, local authorities, communities and other key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and influence strategic approaches to improving population health and reducing health inequalities.
• Provide expert public health advice to senior leaders, elected members and system partners.
• Line manage a small team of public health specialists and other staff.
• Manage a portfolio budget of more than £17 million, one of the largest public health investments in sexual health in the country.
• Translate population health intelligence, evidence and research into effective policy, commissioning and service improvement.
• Work across organisational boundaries to develop innovative approaches to improving health and wellbeing.
• Contribute to the wider leadership and development of Kent's Public Health Division.

Requirements:

• Inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List/UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) for Public Health Specialists or within 6 months of CCT at the date of interview.
• Passionate and motivated public health professional who wants to make a difference at population scale.
• Strong commitment to tackling health inequalities and the ability to operate confidently within a complex, diverse and highly collaborative environment.
• Ability to combine strategic thinking with the ability to turn ideas into practical action, build strong relationships across organisational boundaries and provide confident, evidence-based leadership.
