Location: South London
We are partnering with a well-regarded mixed secondary school in South London to appoint an Interim Assistant Principal on a contract basis until the end of the academic year. This is an exciting opportunity to join a school with a clear mission to empower young people and provide a high-quality, inclusive educational experience.
The Role
- Supporting senior leaders in driving school improvement and high standards of teaching and learning
- Teaching 12-14 periods per week (ideally with a Science background)
- Monitoring and improving classroom practice
- Leading on aspects of whole‑school development and staff performance
- Engaging with the school community to uphold inclusive values and high expectations
Skills & Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong senior leadership experience (Assistant/Deputy Principal, Head of Department or equivalent)
- Strong classroom practitioner with a proven teaching track record
- Experience of teaching and learning leadership
- Comfortable and experienced with a teaching commitment (12-14 periods) – Science specialist preferred
- Experience working in London schools
- NPQH – desirable but not essential
- Enhanced DBS on the update service preferred
