Quality Controller

Reporting To: Senior Technical Manager

Job Purpose: Responsible for ensuring a product or service meets the established standards of quality including reliability, useability and performance required for the market and distribution.

Panificio Italiano is an independent bakery in Iver, Buckinghamshire. It is a new state of art purpose built automated bakery. We bake quality products ranging from traditional recipes to new speciality breads.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Interpret and implement quality standards and procedures.
  • Review the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspection systems.
  • Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials, products to ensure finished product quality.
  • Document internal audits and other quality aspects.
  • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues.
  • Analyse data to identify areas for improvement in the quality activities.
  • Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventative actions.
  • Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers.
  • Conduct the daily, weekly, and monthly audit for Production.
  • Conduct the Hygiene audit, and other audits on Silo Sieve, magnet checks, GMP, and other checks.
  • Develop new standards for production and design, with improvements as needed and create testing protocols for implementation across all service lines.
  • Identifying and resolving workflow and production issues.
  • Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Monitor risk management activities, and responsible for document management systems.

Health & Safety:

  • Being aware of and follow relevant health and safety policy, procedures, and instructions.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Being responsible for his/her own safety.
  • Provide adequate first aid and support.
  • Provide suitable and current information and supervision concerning Health and Safety policies and practices.
  • Assist and cooperate concerning audits and remedial actions.
  • Monitor and report on health and safety practices and systems.

Food Safety Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to ensuring high quality products are produced, by being aware of and follow relevant food safety, quality policy, procedures and instructions.
  • Report directly to Line manager and potential food safety and quality issues.
  • Contribute to a hygienic work environment in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • To proactively inform business if further resource for Food Safety Management System is required.
  • Provide emergency procedures and incident reporting to the relevant authorities.
  • Liaise as necessary with other organisations, customers, and relevant authorities.
  • Monitor and report on Food Safety practices and systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor\’s degree preferred.
  • Certifications would be advantageous including Quality Auditor,
  • Demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices, and defect management practice.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, QA applications and databases.
  • Knowledge of tools concepts and methodologies of QA.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Great team player with minimal supervision.
  • Good communications skills, verbal and written.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Β£30,000.00-Β£40,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Iver SL0 9JQ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
