We are partnering with a well-capitalised European energy trading business with strong financial backing, currently expanding its proprietary power trading desks in London & Germany.
Role Responsibilities
- Short-term proprietary power trading across the front end of the curve, covering day-ahead through to front month and front quarter products across European markets.
- Trade and manage cross-commodity exposure across power, gas, EUA and spread markets.
- Work closely with traders, analysts and quants to develop and enhance trading strategies, including algorithmic approaches.
- Operate with significant autonomy, strong liquidity access and an established risk framework.
- Hybrid working environment with collaborative international teams.
Requirements
- 2+ years experience in short-term proprietary power trading.
- Strong knowledge of German and Central European power markets.
- Understanding of cross-commodity trading, spreads and market fundamentals.
- Quantitative mindset with strong analytical skills; systematic or algorithmic trading experience is advantageous.
