Pangea are currently working with a leading power generation company who are looking for a Project Manager to join them on a permanent basis. You would be working for a rapidly growing power solutions company that specializes in the delivery of data centre projects across the UK and Europe.
Overseeing the installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of the diesel generator scope to the data centre client.
Role Overview: The Project Manager will be responsible for overall project delivery, with particular emphasis on commissioning activities. This includes managing the installation, testing, and commissioning of generators, ensuring all systems meet operational and safety standards before handover. The role requires close coordination with contractors, commissioning teams, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution from initial planning through to final commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing the commissioning of diesel generators, ensuring all systems are tested and operationally ready.
- Overseeing the installation and integration of power systems within the data centre environment.
- Developing and executing commissioning plans, including schedules, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Coordinating with contractors and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve commissioning issues.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, safety protocols, and client requirements.
- Supporting final testing, validation, and system handover processes.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience managing complex projects with a focus on generator and power system commissioning within data centres or similar mission-critical environments.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical systems and commissioning procedures.
- Experience coordinating multiple contractors and technical teams on-site.
- Excellent project management skills, including scheduling, risk mitigation, and documentation.
- Certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, SMSTS are preferred.
- Ability to coordinate testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities effectively.
