Pangea is currently working with a major energy player looking to hire a Gas Operator to join their 24/7 shift team in London. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team operating within a fast paced, international environment.
Role Overview
As a Gas Operator, you will be responsible for managing the daily physical gas positions, coordinating transportation logistics, and optimising storage and interconnector flows across the UK and Europe. You will work closely with traders and operational teams to ensure seamless gas supply and demand management, maximise portfolio value, and respond swiftly to market and operational triggers within a 24/7 shift rotation.
Required Experience & Skills
- Prior experience in a Gas Operator or similar role preferred
- Strong knowledge of UK and European natural gas networks and market mechanisms
- Proficiency with TSOs’ portals, Prisma, Trayport, WebICE, EEX
- Excellent analytical, numerical and communication skills
- Degree or relevant work experience in energy markets or related fields
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
- Excel and analytical skills
- Strong communicator comfortable working with traders, originators and other stakeholders
- Problem solver with a high level of analytical skills to resolve issues in a timely manner

Hours of work: 24/7 Shift Rotation including some on-call requirements
