Our client, a well-established supplier and trader of crude oil and petroleum products, is looking to hire a Junior Oil Trader to join their team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with experience in operations, trade support, shipping, or market analytics who is looking to develop a front-office trading career.

Working alongside experienced traders, you will gain hands-on exposure to market analysis, physical trading, deal execution, and risk management while taking on increasing commercial responsibility over time.

  • Track and analyse market movements, including pricing, freight, and trade flows, helping to develop commercial insights that support trading decisions.
  • Assist with the execution of physical and paper transactions, including trade confirmations, recaps, and internal coordination across operations, finance, and risk teams.
  • Ensure accurate and timely management of shipping and trade documentation throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Help resolve operational issues, scheduling challenges, and trade discrepancies, while supporting claims and demurrage processes where required.
  • Maintain awareness of trading exposures and support reporting, compliance, and risk control procedures.

Up to 3 years' experience in oil, refined products, commodities, shipping, trade support, operations, or market analytics.

Understanding of physical oil trading, shipping processes, and trade documentation.

Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel capabilities and the ability to interpret market data.
