The Role

As a Purchase Ledger Administrator, you will provide high‑quality administrative support to the Purchase Ledger function. You will process purchase and sales invoices, ensuring timely payments to suppliers. You will support the Financial Accounts Assistant and Financial Accountant with reconciliations and other finance tasks. You will handle internal and external queries, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with financial policies. You will contribute to projects and build relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers. You will participate in team meetings, training, and service improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above in English and Maths.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced finance environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Teams) and computerised ledger systems.
  • Excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • High degree of numeracy and accuracy.
  • Customer‑focused approach and commitment to personal development.

Desirable

  • AAT (fully or part‑qualified).
  • Knowledge of UNIT4 ERP accounting software.
  • Understanding of Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts.
  • Experience with coding data for online input and manual filing systems.
