Reporting to the Fleet General Manager, you will join a busy team planning outgoing & incoming loads. This role is directly responsible for ensuring that all customers are supplied in the safest and most cost-effective manner, while providing excellent customer service. You will also need the ability to deal with a variety of work challenges in a busy, fast-moving department, often working unsupervised.
Key Responsibilities:
- Abide by & promote health & safety, ensuring all approved policies & processes are allowed
- Oversee the running and management of 20 vehicles working with our on-site planner
- Ensure drivers are managed according to drivers’ hours law and planned in an efficient manner
- Communicate and plan the movement of waste and off take requirements of all the Leeds sites in conjunction with site managers
- Ensure the fleet is managed according to budgeted targets
- Manage the group sub-contracting of hauliers
- Be confident and assertive with good interpersonal skills and be able to work under pressure and prioritise work, reacting to issues as they happen
- Adhering to vehicle maintenance management – Servicing, MOT’s and defects
- Adhering to DVSA regulations & Laws
- Support and cover the operation through peaks and with holidays
Essential Skills & Experiences Required:
- CPC Qualification
- Have appropriate logistics/planning experience
