An Account Manager operating throughout the Wirral. The role is primarily to account manage our silver customers on a specific territory, upsell and grow the accounts and retain business in line with the company targets and objectives. The company's mission is to be the leading independent provider of commercial waste services in our chosen conurbations, achieving this through dynamic growth and exceptional customer service.
Main Tasks and Activities:
- Directly responsible for effective customer contact to prevent cancellations of contracts.
- Build internal relationships with relevant managers and administration teams to address underlying customer concerns.
- Ensure relationships with customers reduce exposure to potential bad debts.
- Help design, implement and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures.
- Contact recent customers post-call to provide follow-up support.
- Introduce visit/call plans to all silver customers.
- Support Marketing to increase positive Google reviews, aiding in new case studies.
- Proactively contact new customers after their first 6 weeks to introduce additional services.
- Identify new business opportunities within existing customer portfolios, including up-selling and cross-selling.
- Maintain relevant information systems including CRM.
- Report to line manager and/or Directors on account progress and potential opportunities.
- Assist with Credit Control and Finance teams to ensure payment terms are adhered to and reduce debtor days.
Other Duties Include but are not Limited to:
- Acting as the key contact for lower value key accounts and liaising internally to provide excellent customer service.
- Handle inbound telephone customer retention enquiries.
- Set appointments resulting from inbound enquiries.
- Manage the P&L of individual customers to retain and increase revenue while meeting profit margin targets.
- Resolve conflicts or issues.
- Review service offerings to meet customer requirements and expectations.
- Ensure all contracts and relevant paperwork are updated as required.
- Maintain excellent knowledge of company service offerings and the waste management industry.
- Participate in job swap days to build mutual relationships with BDMs.

- Ability to sell, up-sell and account manage.
- Approachable and personable personality traits while being tenacious to prevent cancellations.
- Self-confident, enthusiastic, and able to communicate at all levels using various forms.
- Ability to learn and adapt to various software systems including CRM.
