About The Role

Location: Sheffield

Position: Permanent, Full-Time (Guaranteed Hours)

Earnings: £16.50/hr basic | Overtime paid at x1.5 after 45 hours

Hours: 6:00am start times, including occasional Saturday work

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Vehicle Operation: Safely and efficiently operate HGV Class 2 skip and RoRo vehicles.
  • Site Deliveries: Deliver, exchange, and collect containers across various local commercial and industrial sites.
  • Compliance & Tech: Complete daily vehicle checks, report defects promptly (DVSA compliance), and use digital tablet-based systems for job records and waste transfer notes.
  • Safety First: Work safely at all times, strictly following site, transport, and road regulations.
  • Customer Service: Act as the face of the company, providing a professional, helpful, and friendly service on-site.
  • Teamwork: Support the wider transport and depot team at our Sheffield site to keep operations running smoothly.

What We’re Looking For

  • Essential Requirement: A valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence, up-to-date Driver CPC, and a Digital Tachograph card.
  • New Pass Drivers Welcome: We actively welcome applications from newly qualified drivers. If you have recently gained your licence, we provide the necessary support and industry-specific training to help you kickstart your career. While previous experience in skip, RoRo, or hookloader operations is an advantage, it is not essential as full training is provided.
  • A solid understanding of driver compliance, safety standards, and daily defect checks.
  • A reliable, professional approach with uncompromising safety standards.
  • Good communication skills and a practical, customer-focused attitude.
  • Flexibility to support operational needs, including a 6am start time and occasional Saturday shifts.
