Responsibilities
Performs as on-site support liaison between Panasonic and Airline Customers/OEMs to ensure customer satisfaction and optimum performance of all Panasonic equipment. Provides service, technical guidance, support, and training to airline customers to ensure product performance and reliability objectives are met. Represents Panasonic Field Engineering\’s interests in resolving technical issues with other departments. Acts as a mentor and technical resource to lower-level Field Engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service, Support, Training, and Troubleshooting
  • Provide technical guidance, formal training, and field assistance to Panasonic personnel and airline customers in troubleshooting and resolving system hardware, network, and software issues. Provide accurate, detailed, and timely responses to problems and queries.
  • Support for new equipment installations, enhancements, or modifications for hardware, wiring, and software integration. Work closely with engineering departments for corrective actions.
  • Review installation documentation to verify specifications.
  • Conduct operational, line, and maintenance training for airline customers.
  • Monitor data reliability, analyze trends, and identify systemic problems.
  • Maintain knowledge of aircraft avionics systems interfacing with Panasonic equipment.
  • Participate in system operation, maintenance, or reliability investigations, data collection, and problem resolution.
  • Provide field inputs concerning technical issues, installation, or documentation problems. Collect data for product support evaluation.
  • Establish communication with engineering for problem resolution and monitor implementation of fixes.
  • Assist in aircraft delivery and support during flight tests and customer flights.
  • Maintain customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and long-term partnerships.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, Engineering, or related field; 8+ years experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • 5-7 years experience as a Field Engineer or Product Engineer in electronics/avionics systems or broadcast technology.
  • Knowledge of Linux, Unix, Windows, VxWorks, TCP/IP networks, wiring schematics, and engineering documentation.
  • Interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • MySQL and Oracle experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of aircraft systems interfacing with Panasonic equipment.
  • Ability to write and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently, resolve complex issues, multitask, and work flexible hours including weekends and travel up to 50%.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license, pass security background checks, and be able to work in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and work at heights.
