General Laborer - Service in Newry

Responsibilities include assisting the Service, Installation and Warehouse teams by performing functions such as furnishing tools, materials and supplies to other workers, maintaining a clean work area, machines and tools, and holding materials or tools for other workers. Duties also involve assisting with the shipping and receiving of materials, staging and inventory, recognising, handling, and properly using basic tools and materials, examining and testing machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts for defects to ensure proper functioning, and assisting with the assembly of gang boxes and job materials for projects.

Additional responsibilities include assisting with the positioning of vehicles, machinery, equipment, and other objects for assembly, installation, and/or service, maintenance, and making general repairs. The role requires the ability to visit job sites as needed to deliver and exchange parts, tools or equipment, and to follow safe work practices including the proper use of PPE. Understanding temperature and pressure charts and being able to record readings is also necessary.

Qualifications:

• Formal Education Requirement: High School or GED
• Minimum Years of Experience: Zero to five years
• Must have a Valid Driver's License and maintain a safe driving record in accordance with the Fleet Policy.
• Physical ability to walk distances, bench and crouch, climb ladders, work at high elevations, and lift/carry objects up to fifty pounds, repetitively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented, and highly motivated.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends as required.
• Strong leadership and business acumen.
• Superior decision-making ability and paperwork skills.
• Working knowledge of basic refrigeration and/or knowledge of commercial refrigeration and HVAC is preferred.
