An exciting opportunity to cover a period of adoption leave within the Management Accounts function has arisen. Successful candidates will support the Senior Business & Value Partner, lead in providing accurate & timely financial information for presentation at meetings and to feed into the Trust's position for internal and external reporting. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, resilient and strive for the very best for our Trust and the population we serve. Candidates must have an understanding of the complexities of NHS finances. Strong IT skills, competent in the use of Microsoft Office, great communication skills and a passion to make a difference are essential.
You will be able to offer robust and pro-active advice to non-finance managers. You will be enthusiastic about leading a team to deliver outputs to a high standard within tight deadlines. We are Level 2 accredited as part of the One NHS Finance Towards Excellence Accreditation and we're currently on our journey to achieve level 3. We have recently implemented working day 1 reporting. We have featured as part of the CWP "Big Book of Best Practice" where we have showcased the exciting things we do including Training and Development to the wider organisation, Health and Wellbeing. The Trust offers excellent opportunities for training, development and professional studies. This role will involve remote working/hybrid working however there will be a requirement to work from the office on certain days.
Main duties of the job include:
- Working with the Senior Finance Business Partners to develop and produce information to support accurate and timely monthly performance reports for presentation at service meetings and to feed into the Trust's position for internal and external corporate reporting.
You will be a qualified accountant with a proven track record of working collaboratively with senior, multi-disciplinary individuals on both an internal and external basis. You should have the ability to analyse and interpret highly complex and highly sensitive data and communicate complex financial analysis and interpretation to non-finance colleagues. Additionally, you should have the competency to negotiate and influence staff and overcome barriers to accepting the analysis provided.

Qualifications required include CCAB Qualified (Professional Accountancy qualification) and evidence of CPD. Desirable criteria include a recognised management qualification.
Expert working knowledge of management accounting and budgetary control is essential, along with the ability to produce and interpret detailed trend and variance analysis, knowledge and understanding of end of year statutory accounts requirements, and the ability to produce and interpret complex financial information.
Experience required includes extensive experience of managing and supervising staff within a finance department and creating an environment that will facilitate their ongoing development, detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and financial ledger packages, and experience of completion of local, regional and national regulatory returns.
